Web UI Specialist



Overview

Active8 is seeking a highly motivated Web UI Specialist. You will be working closely with the Designers and Developers to hand-code and deliver our clients' websites. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about web standards and front-end technologies to deliver high quality websites.


Your Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Web Consultants in understanding the clients’ web requirements
  2. Deliver the project with the Web (Interaction) Designers and Developers
  3. Develop the correct semantic markup for templates and web parts/controls
  4. Manage all the front-end UI development (eg: Ajax, jQuery)
  5. Champion all quality checks required for a website
  6. Be involved in the Active8's Software Services R&D as a front-end UI specialist
  7. Develop and manage the lifecycle of front-end UI components used in our projects and software
  8. Participate in early stage discovery, research and analysis for the new website
  9. Explore new ideas, web technologies and trends

What We're Looking For

  1. At least 3 years of UI Development experience
  2. In depth experience in the following technologies CSS, XHTML, jQuery and AJAX
  3. Possess genuine interest in APIs and frameworks (Google products, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and knowledge in implementing them
  4. Have a solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
  5. Be able to research and evaluate new web products and front end technologies. You must have a clear picture of what the future of the web holds (HTML5, CSS3, etc.) and be a firm believer in web standards and their evolution
  6. Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  7. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment
  8. Be up to date with the latest online trends and technology
  9. Be mindful of website and web application performance
